The family-held field of Awaken Roots
Awaken Roots is held by family, and by people we trust deeply.
Each of us brings a different way of knowing—psychological, embodied, contemplative, creative and lived.
What connects us is not a shared title or methodology, but a shared commitment to presence, discernment and respect for the experience unfolding before us.
We are not here to lead your journey.
We are here to hold the field while you meet your own.

Z
Zafiro Fierro
Founder + Keeper
Some arrive at Awaken Roots out of curiosity.
Others arrive because something within them is ready to realign with what has always been true.
Zafire walks with the latter.
Her work has evolved through decades of exploring consciousness, identity, human adaptation and the ways we return to ourselves. With a foundation in Clinical & Health Psychology, her path increasingly moved beyond the clinical room—toward expanded states of consciousness, plant medicine, ancestral practice and the intelligence carried through ceremony.
Zafire has specialized training in psilocybin-assisted work and psychedelic integration. Her approach draws from contemporary psychedelic research and established protocols, including work emerging from Johns Hopkins, while leaning deeply into ceremonial study, ancestral practices and teachings encountered within the Yucatán.
She is pioneering an approach that does not ask science and ancestral wisdom to compete. Instead, she allows each to inform the container differently: research brings discernment and structure; ancestral practice brings reverence, relationship and remembrance.
At Awaken Roots, Zafire steps outside her role as a psychologist. She comes as Keeper: grounded, discerning and deeply human - tending the field without claiming ownership of what unfolds within it.
She does not position herself as the healer.
The medicine is not the healer.
The Keeper is not the healer.
Something within you already knows the way home.
Her work is not about becoming someone new.
It is about remembering.

Alexander Sanchez
Alexander's work begins where understanding yourself is no longer enough.
For more than 17 years, he has devoted himself to the lived practice of becoming more honest, present and embodied, not simply understanding patterns, but noticing how they show up in the way we decide, relate and live.
Through Heart Practice, Alexander works in private mentorship with people ready to move beyond insight and into lived experience. His approach is relational, direct and deeply human, grounded as much in what he has lived as in what he has learned.
At Awaken Roots, Alex brings that same quality of presence into the field.
He does not interpret another person's experience or prescribe what it should mean. He brings grounded attention, honest reflection and a capacity to stay present with what is actually happening.
His work becomes especially important in the return—when insight meets the body, relationships, decisions and ordinary life.
Because an experience can open something.
How you live afterward is the practice.

Sofia
Sacred Architect | Rooted Feminine
Sofia is the unseen thread weaving coherence through Awaken Roots.
Long before anyone arrives, she is tending the details that allow the experience to feel considered and whole from the visual world of Awaken Roots and participant care to the countless practical elements that quietly shape what is felt once everyone gathers.
She brings a distinctly feminine intelligence to the field: intuition alongside precision, beauty with purpose, softness without losing structure.
Much of what Sofia creates happens behind the scenes. Yet her imprint is everywhere.
She doesn't hold the ceremony.
She helps create the ground beneath it.
And in a family-held experience, Sofia carries something else that cannot be manufactured: a lived connection to the roots from which Awaken Roots itself emerged.
